Ohio Anti-Union Bill will CRIMINALIZE striking - strikers could face fines and/or jail time
Edited on Wed Mar-02-11 09:57 PM by phleshdef
As an Ohioan thats been following this pretty closely, I have no idea how this got past me until today.

Senators passed the legislation on a 17-16 vote Wednesday, with all 'yes' votes coming from the GOP. Six Republicans voted against the bill.

The bill establishes fines and jail time for those who participate in strikes. Unionized workers could negotiate wages, hours and certain work conditions - but not health care, sick time or pension benefits.

I think its time to shut down the whole damn state.

3. I can't see this actually becoming law
The backlash from this would be of epic proportions. Picture if you will, Ohioans striking en masse and calling their collective bluff.

9. This part SHOULD be shut down by the NLBR
but welcome back to 1934, before the Wagner Act. These guys want to go back to 1880. If they can, all the way to 1750 when we had MAXIMUM wage laws, not minimum wage laws.

Where are the people of Ohio on this, apparently not as concerned about it as they would be over missing a nasty car race or a suckeye game.

11. Are Ohio's public sector unions going to take this lying down? It's
time for them to call a general strike and shut the state's adminsitrative functions down.

WTF???
