What teabaggers REALLY mean when they say "I wish things were the way they used to be"
Edited on Thu Mar-03-11 02:11 AM by Hugabear
What they really mean:

* They wish that women were still relegated to the kitchen; or if they got a job, that it was a "woman's job" like a secretary
* They wish that segregation was still the law of the land, where they didn't have to mix with African-Americans
* They wish that sweat shops still existed in the US, where 80-hour work weeks were common, and there was no such thing as minimum wage or overtime
* Deep down, many of them still wish that slavery was still legal, just replace the plantation with large factories
* They wish that homosexuals were confined to the closet, subject to prosecution

Feel free to add some more

1. They wish for higher tax rates, especially for the top 5%?
Because that was part of the way it used to be. What was it during the Eisenhower administration, 90% on the top levels?

6. Oh no, we can't have that. You see that was a different economic time then

I swear, I heard one of them say it on Thom Hartmans TV show.

11. Yeah, I believe that
So in the spirit of the original post:

Nothing but twin beds allowed, no matter how long a couple has been married. The word "pregnant" never said in public or in mixed company. Euphemisms must prevail!

18. I think they'd rather have the rates that existed
closer to when income tax was brought into law.

19. No competition from minorities and women for the "good" jobs, so more jobs, better pay for
straight white men. Ahh, the good ol' days that teabaggers remember. ;)
