District probes claim teacher slammed autistic student, 16, into window
Twin Rivers district probes claim teacher slammed autistic student, 16, into window

SACRAMENTO COUNTY - A student's mother claims a teacher used excessive force on her 16-year-old son who is autistic.
....

Marquis said the teacher saw a person with a broom stick. When the teacher approached and yelled for him to stop, the boy ran.

According to Marquis, the teacher talked and walked to the boy. The boy backed into a window and that was when the injuries occurred. He had cuts and scratches to his back and a bump on the back of his head.

Tara Westcott is the teenager's mother. "My son was slammed into the window and it shattered. He was held so tight that he got bruises," she said.

...

The teen has been a student at Foothill High since he was a freshman. Westcott said her son often explores the school after hours because he feels as if it is a safe place.

1. Explore the school after hours?
Sounds a tad bit like trespassing to me.

An autistic child roaming an empty building at night, especially a building with a recent history of break-ins?

Dumb idea, mom.

2. Agreed
more information is needed.

He could very well have slammed himself in to the window hard enough to cause injuries. Or the teacher could have done it mistakenly. Or on purpose just to be an asshole. There are a lot of variables here.

Also it's a bad idea to let your kids walk around any place 'after hours' especially if they are special needs.
