3-3-11 brings us the Empire (of false religion) Strikes Back!
From BYU to Fred Phelps, America is suffering the results of the false morality brought to us by animals that call themselves "christians."

How ironic that the Mormons, who once were all about polygamy, are denying people their right to have sex. Just think, they backed off their "belief" in polygamy so that they could be a part of the U.S. So why can't they back off their hatred of gays and premarital sex? Their religion is a joke. Read the Bible, Morons. The Truth will set you free! (BTW, the Book of Mormon is one of the biggest violations of Christianity: Revelations has the strongest possible warning about adding on to the Bible.)

Then we have Fred Phelps. This animal goes against everything decent in humanity by protesting at funerals. Thank goodness for people who are now physically blocking his war against humanity.

1. Always cracks me up
when Christians get into these debates about who's a Real Christian™.

2. I think Mormonism is in a category by itself.
Kind of like Scientology.

3. ALL religions are cults in one way or another

And they're all based on fairy tales, which were amalgams of other, older fairy tales

8. The older ones are more interesting and entertaining
I particularly like the Iron Age Germanic/Nordic tales. Thor, Uller, Loki, Odin, Frau Holle, Nerthus.

Perhaps it is because of my heritage. My son prefers the Greek version but his ultimately atheist whereas I am merely agnostic.

I truly enjoy seeing parallels (prayer=spells). Catholicism is so full of olde magick I don't know how they keep their faces straight. The other parallels I see of organized religion is subjugation of women, ambition, sadism, masochism, manipulation/bullying and general con artistry in the name of some perfect infallible god. At least people expected their old gods to be flawed and fickle, much like themselves.

4. I know several Mormons, good people all. What many people don't
realize is that if you are a Mormon and you walk away from the Church, you walk away from family and friends, from everyone and everything you know. While I object when the Mormon Church finances anti-gay campaigns ( just as I object when my own Church does the same), I can respect individual Mormons trying to find the right path.

7. Well, if that doesn't define a cult, I don't know what else does. nt

5. A Little Bible Triva:
If you have a King James version handy, (or look on the Net) go to the 46th psalm. Count 46 words down from the top. Then count 46 words up from the bottom. What do you get?

Interesting stuff. Francis Bacon was a part of the translation team. He was big on ciphers. Was the Bible changed or is that coincidence? Changes are forbidden and cursed at the end of Revelations, which some scholars say is a questionable addition to the cannon, anyway.
