Lawyer: Bradley Manning Stripped, Left Naked For Seven Hours Last Night
Edited on Thu Mar-03-11 07:43 PM by Hissyspit
http://www.armycourtmartialdefense.info/2011/03/confinement-conditions-worsen.html?m=1

Last night, PFC Manning was inexplicably stripped of all clothing by the Quantico Brig.  He remained in his cell, naked, for the next seven hours.  At 5:00 a.m., the Brig sounded the wake-up call for the detainees.  At this point, PFC Manning was forced to stand naked at the front of his cell.

The Duty Brig Supervisor (DBS) arrived shortly after 5:00 a.m.  When he arrived, PFC Manning was called to attention.  The DBS walked through the facility to conduct his detainee count.  Afterwards, PFC Manning was told to sit on his bed.  About ten minutes later, a guard came to his cell to return his clothing.

This type of degrading treatment is inexcusable and without justification.  It is an embarrassment to our military justice system and should not be tolerated.  PFC Manning has been told that the same thing will happen to him again tonight.  No other detainee at the Brig is forced to endure this type of isolation and humiliation.

What kind of person comes up with these schemes anyway? Investigation should commence and heads should roll.

8. Torture and Humilation of Prisoners: Two of our Abundant Commodities

Nobody does it better than America!

America. Fuck Yeah!!!!!

Let's have fun at another human's expense. Just cuz we can and cuz we're goddamned mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging psychopaths!!!

WooHoo for us!

I am so proud of my country right now!

Give the rich everything,
starve the workers and poor,
torture the prisoners,
waste our taxes on war...

Can I get a high five - for American Pride?

15. And how cowardly such behavior is also.
Do they not know how cowardly this make them look? A heavily armed military against one unarmed person. I think we should go back to the days when to be a leader, you had to actually FIGHT for the privilege. I am disgusted by the U.S. military the more I hear and the more I learn and how few of them, like Manning, have the guts to say 'no'.

Just following orders, no matter how criminal they are!!

Cowards, teabaggers, something badly needs to be done about this country as it has absolutely no decency left.

17. You are correct

The military prison guards doing this shit need to realize they are pathetic cowards.

They think they're all manly man, like guys who beat their wives and adults who beat up kids, but they're just lowlife scum, taking out their sociopathic crap on defenseless others.

These military prison guards doing this to this man are criminals themselves. They have no decency left in any of them, if they had any to begin with. They should be fired and then prosecuted.

But the phrase "Cruel and unusual punishment" means nothing anymore.

Our Constitution is a goddamned farce, and these military prison guards only prove that is fact.

18. Thank you, and they should be branded as cowards.
Edited on Thu Mar-03-11 11:45 PM by sabrina 1
In a world where to earn the reputation of being a brave, patriotic soldier, they would have to prove it by facing the person on equal footing, not one of these cowards could do that, they would run like frightened rabbits if they ever were faced with a situation where they were on equal footing with the person they are now attacking.

Manning puts them to shame, he displayed remarkable courage when he made the decision to expose the crimes he was asked to participate in. He makes them look like the cowards they are.

19. I know some real good cops and corrections officers

but I have also worked with a former prison guard from Indiana who bragged about all the ways they tormented and abused and humiliated the prisoners in their charge at the facility where he worked. Some of the things he told me about - forcing male prisoners to simulate sex with each other, etc. -came back to haunt me when the first pictures from Abu Ghraib came out. I swear I figured his prison guard buddies must be in Iraq....

It really opened my eyes to the reality of American prisons. They are criminal enterprises, run by corporations and staffed by some real sick fucks. And it apppears our military prisons attract the same sort of sadists; unable to let the courts (or military tribunals) do their job, these "guards" feel it's their job to be judge and jury and to mete out their own brand of punishment. They have no regard for the very document they swore to uphold and defend.

And you're right; they are losers in real life who only abuse prisoners because they are cowards on the street. Beating up on someone dependent on you is classic cowardice.

But I have seen Lady Kharma kick ass, and I hope she does so soon to those torturing Manning...
