I have Howard Dean's personal gmail address yet I'm too paranoid to follow-up. |
|
Long story short, Dean is a frequent guest at my school and as such get to shake his hand and approach him for job opportunities.
I can't summon the courage to contact him.
What should I do?

He will decide to read or delete.
Just make it the best effort.

6. It depends. First you need to decide WHY to contact him. |
|
Once you've done that, reverse-engineer your approach from that goal.
Also...JEALOUS!!! :D

8. First, why did he give it to you? Had you started a conversation about something that |
|
he wanted to help or answer? I would review the situation, then write him. This may be a one time deal and so ask carefully, thoughtfully and intelligently. You may need to remind him that you are following up on his giving you his gmail. Good luck!

9. He gives it out to almost anyone who approaches him after an event. |
|
It's more of a connection than a tangible employment opportunity.

11. Really now, if he is a decent man, he will welcome your honest and forthcoming approach. |
|
By all means, proceed with great pride and exuberance.

my story... I used to have one of his ties (red and white)... when Mr. Dean was Gov he helped out at a Kiwanis auction in St. Johnsbury and offered his tie to the highest bidder on a power drill... well, I way overpaid and got his tie!!! Threw it out one day when I was on a cleaning spree...

14. Ask why left pols/pundits (aside from the blogosphere) have failed to turn the heat up enough on |
|
Obama, and why they're letting him get away with Republican-lite policies.
