1. No free education!!!
They want a cash business that does not use tax money. Even China is turning away from that though.

2. MONEY.
It's always the reason for pretty much everything the RW does.
Public schools cost money, they don't make money.
Therefore, they must be privatized.

3. To enable a corporate takeover of the schools.
Big money, in other words.

4. They are uneducated and "God fearing".
Studies have shown that the more education you have the more likely you are to be liberal.

They recognize higher education for what it truly is: A machine for creating open-minded human beings. And that scares the shit out of them.

6. "studies"?
What I've read is that the more education you have, the more conservative you are, and this doesn't change until graduate school, where the level of conservatism drops slightly.

12. That is along the same lines of what I was going to say.
What you said is true and they also hate multi-culturism and equal opportunity for all. If they could have it their way, they would have only for profit Sunday School every day of the week...and only for the white kids with the richest parents. Poor kids and all other races? Low wage work until death. THAT is what they want.

9. Voted "other", meaning all the above except "They know they need to ..."
They are more likely to be school haters
They like it when the masses are ignorant
They are getting money - personal corruption
The money is coming from school privatizers
They have faith in mass media, if not the Bible.
They personally would prefer private schools, where grades, etc. were for sale
They abhor the idea of people getting good, 'elitist' education at all
They abhor the idea of people getting educated for free
They abhor the idea of an educated populace
They don't trust education anyways, they prefer mammalian and reptilian politics
I'm sure there's more...

10. They hate universal education almost as much as they hate the idea of universal health care. It's
the money for most of them. They just can't tolerate the idea of their money going to help someone else.
