Current TV Building New York Studio For Keith Olbermann Show

As it readies the debut of the Keith Olbermann show, Current TV is building a studio in Manhattan, says co-founder Joel Hyatt in this interview with Beet.TV

Hyatt says that the studio will have additional uses beyond the Olbermann show, which will debut in "late Spring."

The San Francisco-based cable network has its primary broadcast studio in Los Angeles. Although Current maintains business operations in New York, this would be its first studio.

We caught up with Hyatt at the paidContent2011 conference in Manhattan for an the role of Current as a news source and development of the company.

3. They are working toward getting some of the "smaller" cable companies to
carry Current! That certainly should include mine (Cox). Wonderful!

8. It's not on Charter, that I know of, and I have all the channels except for some of the HD's.
I checked on this when it was announced that Keith would be going there and I THINK it's available through an online stream, or at least a rerun. I wonder wht they consider early spring? It's March and that's what I think of as early spring.

10. It's "late spring" -- and Olbermann has repeatedly said June 1
He was correcting something on Twitter just last night who'd said it would be April.

6. I just discovered Current TV on my Comcast TV at 107 in the
DC/Northern VA area. Every time I turn it on, the show is called something like "kill, cook and eat". WTF! That does not appeal to me at all! I'm certainly not going to be killing my dinner, since I live in an urban area!

Are there other programs that don't involve killing things? I'm wondering what is going on with that channel??? I thought it was more political or latest whatever. Is it Al Gore's creation or not?

Thanks for any info!

9. I hope KO is thinking outside of the box in planning his show.
Keith I'm sure has been given free rein as to what his new show will consist of. Why should he be limited to just 1 hr each night? Think about a 90 minute show that allows more time for extended interviews. I'd like to see some investigative reporting like Bill Moyers did on PBS.

Remember The David Susskind late night interview show "Open End"? There was no set time for the show to end. The discussion kept on going until the topic being addressed was fully explored.

Good luck Keith.
