(CNN) -- Demonstrators protested in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province on Friday to demand the release of Shiite prisoners they feel are being held unjustly.

An outspoken Shiite prayer leader who demonstrators say was arrested last Friday was a focal point of the "day of rage" protest, said Ibrahim Al-Mugaiteeb, president of the Human Rights First Society.

Sheikh Tawfeeq Al-Amer was arrested Friday after a sermon stating that Saudi Arabia should become a constitutional monarchy, Al-Mugaiteeb said.

Saudi Arabian authorities could not be immediately reached for comment.

More than a 1,000 protesters are streaming out of the Murad Agha mosque in Tripoli's Tajoura district, chanting "the people want to bring the regime down."

Army assaulted a local restaurant in Karadah area and arrested the journalists who participated in this demonstration after dismissing it in Altahrir square and among these journalists are: Hady al Mahdy, Ali alsmary who writes in alsabah newspaper and ali Abdulsadah after beating them in the street and dragging them into their army jeeps. this was from Baghdad and thank you for listening to our voices.

March 4, 2011: An Egyptian Vascular Surgeon volunteering in Al-Bayda and Ajdabiya describes the anti-aircraft bullets he has been removing from patients. He described them as about 14 inches long when they are exploded. These are missiles not used for people. Bones and vessels are irreparable as they are completely melted by the bullets . More people are killed than injured, and this is very rare for the death rate being more than injured rate (even in Gaza).

(CNN) -- Soon after the Libyan rebellion escalated, a senior member of the nation's powerful Warfallah tribe announced it would no longer support Moammar Gadhafi, saying that "he is no longer a brother."

The Zawiya tribe, based in a petroleum-rich region in the east, threatened to cut off oil flow. The Bani Walid tribe decided to withdraw its men from the regime's security brigades. And the influential Zintan tribe, allied in the past to Gadhafi's own tribe, broadcast a statement of support for the opposition.

One after another, Libya's myriad tribes are falling in line against Gadhafi, and the implications are enormous, said longtime observers of Libya, because for centuries, tribes have formed the backbone of the North African nation.

In a recent speech delivered on state television, Gadhafi's son Saif a-Islam Gadhafi, blamed Libya's unrest on tribal factions and warned of civil war with members of different tribes "killing each other in the streets".

But when they rose up to fight their Italian colonizers, Libya's tribes stood as one against a common enemy. Gadhafi's foes are hoping for that unity again.

More than decade ago, a Washington writer penned a novel based on Moammar Gadhafi’s willingness to use chemical weapons. Called “Circle William,” the novel was based on a supposed plot by Gadhafi to use chemical weapons against the Israeli Knesset in Jerusalem and a ship christening ceremony in Norfolk, Va. Predictably, the plot failed because of the heroic efforts of two brothers.

While there is no evidence that Libya would go after U.S. or Israeli targets — or even has the capability to do so — one of the book’s main premises is very real: Gadhafi has vast reserves of chemical weapons.

Libya has a “significant” stockpile of chemical weapons, developed during the 1980s, according to U.S. officials, but the U.S. also believes there is no evidence that he is prepared to use them against his own people. With the destruction of 3,500 aerial bombs in 2004, Gadhafi may not have the delivery systems needed.

“We have no indication he is planning to use them against his population … but he doesn’t always make rational decisions,” said one official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Young demonstrators hurled rocks at the militia forces cruising the Tajura neighborhood in blue trucks, but the crackle of fire from what sounded like automatic weapons panicked the protesters and they fled in several directions.

“Everyone was supposed to retreat to the mosque but they are scared of the killing because they are using bullets,” a doctor in the main Tajura mosque said as some protesters scrambled for cover there. Two people were injured, he said. Witnesses said the militia fired AK-47 assault rifles.

Initially, worshippers in Tajura said they planned to display their opposition to Colonel Qaddafi from inside the mosque, staging a sit-ins after the noon prayers that have become a flashpoint for demonstrations in the uprisings spreading across the Arab world.

But, as prayers ended, thousands of protesters — mainly men — lofted the pre-Qaddafi flag that has become the emblem of the rebellion and began milling in a courtyard outside, shouting slogans such as “Free, free Libya,” “Tajura will bury you” and “The people want to bring down the regime” — a rallying cry in many parts of the Arab world. The mosque had been packed and many more people prayed in a courtyard outside.

The protest soon thinned out, reflecting a pervasive fear of reprisals, and only several hundred demonstrators remained, keeping close to the mosque itself. But as they chanted slogans, the pro-Qaddafi militia arrived to disperse them and they broke up into several groups.
