to do a fundraiser for Bill Nelson and the Democratic Committee. Jeb was sucked into the visit by someone else and there will be a number of other members of the Miami Dade Public School system and democrats there. I would ratner see him with the ex governor rather than that fool who is the current governor.

1. But the outrage led me to believe they were best pals...
And they'd be sharing a presidential ticket in 2012.

5. Now, don't be non-bipartisan there, Sid.
After all, as Barack said, the Bush family "represents the best of what we aspire to be."

16. "The very best of the American spirit".
"Like the remarkable Barbara Bush, his humility and his decency reflects the very best of the American spirit," Obama told the audience in the White House East Room, which included the former first lady and the Bushes' sons Jeb and Neil. "Those of you who know him: This is a gentleman."

6. Yeah the instant knee-jerking without the facts is starting to be
quite the norm around here. What makes me laugh are the people who get upset when they open a thread that they assume bashes the president because of the title of the thread. Boy they get mad when the thread doesn't follow through. LOL

9. The truth is a fact.
What fact do you need? Check his itinerary. It is no secret. BTW. Miami Central High School is a predominately minority school and when Jeb was the governor, he never visited. This is about Arne Duncan's focus on charters. However, Miami Central has made significant change that is duly being noted by the President today. It shines a light on the school that is much needed. Usually visiting officials never focus on schools like Central. I worked, at one time in the Miami Dade School System, so I know of what I speak.

21. Obama to share stage with Jeb Bush in Miami today
Edited on Fri Mar-04-11 02:50 PM by Lasher
WASHINGTON - Eager to show some bipartisanship, President Barack Obama is sharing a stage in Florida with Jeb Bush, brother of the former president whose policies Obama blames for sending the nation's economy spiraling into a recession.

Obama and Bush, Florida's popular ex-governor, were to speak Friday at Miami Central Senior High School, one of hundreds of low-performing schools across the nation that have received money from the Education Department to help turn the school around. Obama aides said Bush recommended the school as an example of how gains can be made through reform.

Obama's bipartisan overture comes as the White House works through the realities of divided government following the Republican takeover of the House in the November elections. The president will need at least some GOP support if he's to pass any substantial legislation, including education reform, in the second half of his term.

Maybe you should see someone about that problem with your knee.

12. Imagine that. To listen to some folks, you'd think the President
should screen all attendees at his appearances to make sure no Republicans will be there. He's the President, for pete's sake! He meets with everyone. It's his fucking job!

Like this is just all so casually planned and random, lol.

14. He teamed up with Jeb Bush as soon as he nominated Duncan to Sec of Ed and supported deform.
No one cares if they are buddies or not just that they are working toward the same agenda on education which is to break or hobble the teacher's unions, privatize, reformat toward training and babysitting, more silly testing, and generally run things like our fucked up corporations and for their benefit.

20. how does your link prove your opening claim?
Yes, he's doing a democratic fundraiser (a pair of them, actually), but yes he's also teaming with Jeb Bush to push for education reform.

http://whitehouse.blogs.cnn.com/2011/03/04/obama-and-jeb-bush-a-bipartisan-push-for-education/
Political differences aside, both camps maintain the appearance is a natural fit. Bush "has a record of being engaged in and committed to education reform. Obviously, this is a high priority for the President and he believes very strongly that education reform is neither a Democratic, nor a Republican issue. And I think his pursuit of reform has demonstrated that," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said in a recent briefing announcing the appearance. "His reforms already have generated a great deal of bipartisan support, and I think that's reflective of the fact that Americans believe it ought to be a priority," Carney went on to say.

"Florida has gone from being at the bottom of the nation to a national model for education reform," a spokeswoman for Bush said in a statement to CNN. "He believes education reform is an area where both parties can put students before politics to find common ground."

if the choice is Obama or a RW loon - then we are toast. Defending gay rights is great, but we need meat and potatoes change, not dessert.
