Wisconsin Senate majority leader cancels Friday floor session
http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/local/govt-and-politics/article_2b03c590-4671-11e0-8f18-001cc4c002e0.html

MADISON - The Senate majority leader says Friday's floor session is canceled to allow the state Capitol to return "to something of a sense of normalcy."

Scott Fitzgerald said in a statement that Republican senators want time to allow law enforcement to adjust their staffing levels. Senate Republicans and Democrats remain in a standoff over a budget balancing bill that strips the majority of public workers of most of their bargaining rights.

Gov. Scott Walker said he would issue 1,500 layoff notices Friday if at least one of the 14 Senate Democrats doesn't return from Illinois to give the Republican majority the quorum it needs to vote. Senate Republicans voted Thursday to hold the missing Democrats in contempt and force police to bring them back to the Capitol.

My first thought seeing the headline was that the Republicans simply can't handle having to work in the people's house, now that their lockdown has been stopped by court order.

But after seeing the last paragraph there, I wonder if this is being done at least in part to give Walker an excuse for not sending out those layoff notices, which I'm sure he's finally realized will be politically disastrous for him and all the Republicans. Maybe he'll claim now that he had to wait since there was no floor session today for the Democrats to return to?

2. What a sideshow. They should get some kind of award for best comedy show in 2011. What a bunch
of fools. Exactly, "Maybe he'll claim now that he had to wait since there was no floor session today for the Democrats to return to?"

3. I hope his blackmail attempts don't work!
I am so hoping that what is happening in WI will shine the light on every repub crook and crony in the United States, while we can still say we're somewhat united. I just want to yell "WAKE UP PEOPLE!". I have friends whom I thought were reasonable people, but have come to find out through everything that's happened in Egypt, WI, etc. that they frequently hide what they really value. They're like the aliens on V. Don't wanna deal with them anymore. Sounds shallow, but there is no reasoning with them or even holding an in depth conversation with them trying to get them to explain their values.

Police force over the border to Illinois defying the law, that they have no jurisdiction there. A nice headline would be .. "Wisconsin Sheriff patrols held without bail in Illinois jail, pending an investigation for ignoring Illinois state laws."

7. In anticipation of police reaching new staffing levels?????
In response to the stupid fucking layoffs!

The trouble with a tin-pot dictator is that they are desperate for the support of the men carrying tin that support them.

I'm not quite sure where the tin-men are. I pretty sure that the R's in WI don't know either.
