what I find fascinating about right wing nuts who complain about union members getting paid too much |
|
is this: wouldn't they want to join a union to get that same pay?
crazy, isn't it?
I guess they enjoy working at jobs that treat them like shit and pay them like shit.
And for the record, I'm a member of Iatse 600. :)

1. Divide and Conquer. The Pols and RW Pundits stirred this pot. |

pitting one group of Middle Class Workers against the other. Cram this down the next RW Pol or Pundit's Mouth who cries Class Warfare. The RW Invented IT.

3. It's because they have been trained to hate shared/social solutions to anything. |
|
"why should I pay union dues -- it's just somebody else benefitting from my money"
it's almost exactly the same as:
"why should I pay taxes -- it's just somebody else benefitting from my money"

4. It's sad that they've been trained to think, "He has that, and I don't! Take it away from him!" |
|
instead of "He has that, and I don't! Why not? I'm going to get it, too!"

6. IATSE 700 member, here! |

The right wing is great at getting people to vote against their own, self interests. They have convinced their followers that since they aren't getting paid what they are worth, union members don't deserve it, either.
It is amazing to me, but somehow they manage to do it.

7. Since they are getting a shitty deal, everyone else should get one too. |
|
That's typically the reasoning (and I use the word very loosely) behind poor wingnut opposition to unions.

9. They think public workers are paid too much, pensions too good? |
|
Freepers, teabaggers, listen up: Go be a teacher, a snowplow driver, a firefighter. Get in on the gravy train yourself instead of griping that somebody else is getting something you don't have (or so you think). Then after you've been doing that job for awhile, be sure to let us know what a great deal you have.
