I am blind and I can't hear. |
|
This is what I was told. I suppose that's what I get for opening my big mouth. I was talking to a man that I see every few days while I'm out walking my pack. We have always been friendly, but we never really spoke about anything political before. I don't know how we got there other than me with my usual rants about hating the war on drugs..blah blah. Then he started saying something about how George Soros ruined everything. I should have ended it there, but I blurted out that Glen Beck is a waste of perfectly good dead air space. That's when he told me I was blind and I can't hear. He is going to pray for me now...yay. I live in a largely Democratic area, so I usually don't worry too much about people disagreeing with me. I was kind of shocked that someone actually believes what Beck has to say and doesn't just laugh at him. I used to think that W was the worst president we ever had, but the older I get the more I realize it was Reagan. We really need the Fairness Doctrine back. So many people are just brainwashed. I feel bad for telling the guy that he was brainwashed even though it's the brutal truth. Just when we could use a Roosevelt we get stuck with a bunch of crummy Reagans.
I've been lurking here for years, but I don't get to post much. I started visiting back during the Plame scandle..hence the name. I used to commute on my Harley back when gas was 4 bucks a gallon. That ended pretty badly when gas went back down to $3 and some guy on a cell phone made a right hand turn on red right in front of me. I don't scooter that liberally anymore, but I might have to if things keep going the way the are. I'm glad I kept the Harley. I'm glad to still be here too. :hi:

I think Bush and Cheney were equally horrifying in different areas. And you know what each of them did, but I think what Reagan started, Bush magnified PLUS put us into debt to another country to get our citizens and citizens of the world killed. I hope they both somehow feel the anguish and pain they caused so many. Since Reagan is gone, I hope there's an afterlife -- that the near death experience reports of a Life Review are indeed real!
Be extra careful on your Harley this time - I have a feeling you'll be riding it again soon. :(

Union busting was part of his legacy and the financial crisis is the true trickle down effect. Now they want to really shit on us.

I'll hold out on commuting on the Harley again until/if gas gets way out of control. I was going to sell it, but the economy is so bad that you just can't give them away. I live in S FL, and have tried commuting on public transportation. I actually like riding trains, but it takes forever. I used to leave my house at 5:45 am, and get to work at 9:30 am. It was crazy, but I did it for months until I couldn't take it anymore.

the IranContra hearings going on at that time to my husband; the neighbor was almost giddy about "Ollie". Big, big mistake. My husband has a rather deep voice, which alone can be intimidating, but when he's told about a bunch of nonsense from someone who doesn't seem to understand right from wrong, his voice can stop anyone in their tracks. My husband despised Reagan & could see right through the puppet -- & Ollie North, in particular, who, in my husband's eyes, was a flunkie who thought he was a "hero".
I don't think the neighbor ever got over that. I would rather the dressing down been over the Bush regime; defending that POS is totally deserving of a good, healthy rant.

7. I could have used your husband's help this morning. |

I really didn't expect this guy to be a Beck 'disciple'. He was really taken aback about what I said about Reagan too. I think I'm the only one in my family besides my wife who hates Reagan. My wife lost her college education because of Reagan. Her dad died when she was only 9 because he got cancer from being in the Viet Namm war. The government was supposed to cover her college because of that. She was sitting in class when she got the news that her funding was cut off. I don't think Bush would have been in the Whitehouse if it weren't for all the bad things that Reagan did. The pen truly is mightier than the sword.

My husband certainly doesn't hold his tongue -- no one would mess with him at work.
I was part of a big layoff due to Reagan's economics. Funny, my area is industrially rich & the companies in my area during that time were making bundles of money. There was no reason for any layoffs -- except for corporate profit. And you should have seen the long lines at the unemployment office! Every one of them was standing in line due to corporate greed. I kid you not -- our area is the economically richest in my state. Layoffs? Are you kidding?!
