Good news everyone, the recession is over. Again.

Sorry to be so negative but we don't feel terribly recovered here in Detroit. Yet...

"The chart above shows economy-wide job changes in this last recession and recovery compared with other recent ones, with the black line representing the current downturn. Since the downturn began in December 2007, the economy has shed, on net, about 5.4 percent of its nonfarm payroll jobs. And that doesn’t even account for the fact that the working-age population has continued to grow, meaning that if the economy were healthy we should have more jobs today than we had before the recession."

6. Comparing job numbers from the Bush bogus economy to a economy based mostly on reality..
doesnt really mean too much. To me the significance is the gradual but mostly consistent uptick since about 1 1/2 years ago. And yes, we have been out of recession for quite sometime.. based on how recessions are traditionally defined.

5. I can't understand talking about recovery without a "re-boom" in manufacturing.
