So how would you craft a Willie Horton style ad for the campaign to educate the American people.

1. I'd feature Clemons PROMINENTLY

Clemons has achieved infamous status in the Pac NW. He's no Bundy or Ridgway, but those guys are old news.

Four Lakewood police officers are dead because of Mike Huckabee commuting Clemmon's sentance. It seems that all a convict had to do is say they found Jesus and they were pardoned.

If he can't be a good enough role model for his own kids....

Also, Wade Dumond (?) the guy who the right said was a "political prisoner" of Bill Clinton's, who Huckabee turned loose and went on a rampage.

8. Focus it on WHY he pardoned Clemmons. Because Clemmons had FOUND JEEEEEEEEEEZUS!

If he's gonna regard "taking THA LOWRD AZ MAH PERS'NAL SAY-VYOOR" as a Get Out Of Jail Free card, he's got NO business being in any office that gives him any kind of involvement with the justice system.

He'd probably be okay at running a driver's license renewal bureau. Or managing complaints to the highway department or something. Seems to be a pleasant sort of guy in person.

crime bullshit only ends up hurting minorities and the poor.

The Willie Horton ad was disgraceful, had racist undertone, and has had an adverse effect on criminal justice in this nation with no governor wanting to be the next Dukakis.

DUers who want to use the same strategy against Huckabee are making a faustian bargain.
