Huckabee: Here's what I want to know? |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-04-11 08:40 PM by blogslut
Fox News suspended both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum because they, as Fox anchor Bret Baier stated: “...have signaled possible runs for the presidency” and it “is Fox policy” for them to be suspended."
Yet on the Stephen Colbert's television program, date 02-24-2011, this was the exchange:
Stephen: ..."Are you running for President?"
Mike Huckabee: "I'm seriously thinking about it, I really am."
Is this not "signaling a possible run for the presidency"?
Why has Mike Huckabee not been suspended from Fox News Network? Why is the former governor violating Fox policy?

2. Generally the rule for most TV & radio stations... |
|
....is that they go off the lineup when they either form an exploratory committee (which is what Gingrich has done) or when they just come out and announce that they're running. I've never heard of any station that put someone, left or right, on suspension just for thinking about running.

But, in terms of what Baier stated, old Mike is sending out some pretty strong signals.

.....Fox wants all the money, all the votes, all the publicity, and all their coverage going to whatever specific candidate they decide will be the nominee. If it's Huckabee, Fox would want to begin the indoctrination early while discouraging Foxwatchers from supporting other candidates, and that's why the suspensions -- to imply Santorum and Gingrich are bad boys. Well, maybe ............
