(Wisconsin) "Democratic 14" not coming back this weekend

(SUPERIOR) In spite of threats of laying off state workers and contempt charges, the "Democratic 14" in self-exile in northern Illinois are not heading north this weekend. They're heading south.

The Democratic senators are not coming back to Wisconsin this weekend. State Senator Bob Jauch of Poplar says to the contrary.

Bob Jauch: "I'm heading to central Illinois to find a location that's somewhat halfway between Mississippi and Wississippi because Wisconsin's looking way too much like Mississippi. I'm hoping there's an equator of calm in which I can regain those Wisconsin values and traditions that are so much at risk."

Jauch says Governor Walker's threat to lay off 1500 state workers to overcome the budget shortfall won't bring the 14 Democratic senators back to Wisconsin.

1. good, it's an empty threat anyway. Snotty can't even begin to
lay off that many folks without closing the whole she-bang down. what with the tsunami of retirements already in the pipeline, there are not 1500 workers that can go, unless the National Guard is going to get real good at administering those eye tests at the DMV or looking over my tax return at the Department of Revenue.
