1. You can always do an @ in your tweet

That person's account will get some level of notification that they have been mentioned depending on their settings (my mentions go right to my phone as a text--I'm sure @GovWalker does not go to his phone).

@GovWalker has been mentioned quite a few times by me in the past few weeks.

3. I thought I saw something in passing today that stated

That Scott Walker had deleted a bunch of his followers on Twitter although I can't remember where I saw it. But it would indicate he does have a Twitter account.

4. There's a thread on it right now in GD

It has to do with the fact that Twitter would not verify the @GovWalker account. So his own people probably started the @GovWaiker account (some oddity in Twitter about not always differentiating between l and i) to force them to verify the real account.

There was another account that folks were getting confused with that had a capital 'i' instead of a lower 'L' in the word Walker,
on Twitter those two look the same due to the font they use.

7. That was my topic, which I've now corrected. Walker had been turned down by Twitter earlier when

he wanted his account verified as official, and it looks as though he or one of his people set up a fake Twitter account to create confusion and force Twitter to verify the real account. Which they've done. Links to the real account and the fake are in that topic.

You can't send him a direct message however unless you both are following each other.

My guess is he's never even been on twitter, it's his staffers running his account.
