Cigna Health Insurance and Omnium...

A relative just called. He's getting screwed over by Cigna and a health care collection agency named Omnium is all over him.

Turns out, he was on SS disability and turned down Medicare in favor of Cigna!

He's had a lot of medical stuff in the last three years, and Cigna is now saying that a lot of his stuff was "out of network", when they were actually in their network.

I told him to get a lawyer. Right away.

He's.... wait for it... a fundie, a Republican, and he believes that everybody should take responsibility for themselves. Doesn't like unions, either, but it was working on a job for "prevailing (read union) wages"... when he got hurt, and that made a ton of difference.

Guy is too close a relative for "Fuck you, your Repub bullshit came back to bite you on the ass." Normally, I love a big dish of schadenfreude, but.....

Anybody have the kind of medical problems with Cigna or other insurance companies that my relative had?

2. No personal experience with Cigna but it's totally legitimate to ask your relative whether this...

...issue has changed his mind about supporting a system of health care that enables this sort of outrage and essentially protects the corporations that engage in it.
