Bill Hicks on every new president

Whenever a new president is elected, Hicks explained, they'd take him into a smoky room and show him footage of the Kennedy assassination,..... And then say

'ANY QUESTIONS?....... I thought not.'

Now do you understand?

1. I believe that something like this exists
When I was 10 I thought that there were bad men around that you couldn't see.

When I am pushing 50, I KNOW there are bad men around that you can't see.

2. IIRC, they showed him the _other_ film, not the Zapruder film.
You know, the one the CIA took that showed what actually happened on the grassy knoll...

3. Sure seems that way sometimes.
And lobbyists visit our Democratic legislators and let them know-- "I have a million dollars to spend on the upcoming campaign. I can either spend it getting you re-elected, or use it to destroy you. You decide."

5. Bill Hicks was a wingnut....OK
if you say so... I thought he was a humorist and a satirist observer of America?

7. Thats what it was ...a joke.
but if someone actually believes Obama was taken into a room by a group of men and was told to 'do as you are told' ...then they are a wingnut.

8. Poe's law
In addition to being so far out there that it imitates truth, that actual conspiracy theory has been adopted by the Alex Jones crowd as well.

9. Well..... you might want to watch
and read a few things newbie...

I don't care for Alex Jones but I did watch the Obama
Deception at last...there are some truths in it and of course falsehoods

if you think that everything is
honky dory then either you are catapulting the propaganda or not well informed.

Yes... the CIA never did any conspiracy against this nation
and anyone that says that there was ever a conspiracy
is a conspiracy wingnut or just a wingnut

Lincoln conspiracies included.

Now since you can call me names....aka 'wingnut'
I will avoid calling you a stooge.

10. You're painting with a laughably broad brush
I am not. I didn't say ALL of Alex Jones' ramblings were insane and untrue (even a broken clock is right twice a day). I simply stated that the "they show the president elect a different angle of the Kennedy assassination video" conspiracy is patently untrue.

6. Not quite - it's a film clip "from an angle no one's seen before".
And after being asked, "Any questions?" the new president replies "Just what my agenda is".

11. Hicks' observation is probably an extreme exaggeration of a real phenomenon
Certainly when a new President is first briefed on sensitive matters, they do learn some interesting information the rest of us are not privy to. Some of it is probably quite surprising, while most probably is not. But I doubt it takes the form of a threat, implied or otherwise. It's probably more mundane . . . the new President learns of things like intelligence obligations/relationships, military postures, back-channel contacts with this or that group, and any number of other clandestine operations/relationships.

When campaigning (which for EVERYBODY is partly bullshit to begin with), Presidents aren't privy to alot of information that would otherwise affect what they do once in office. Once they do learn about these things, it's natural for their opinions and policy directions to be altered. But that doesn't meant they are threatened, it just means that they are better informed of what's 'really' going on behind the scenes.

13. Helps to have one of his rants (with bonus Zapruder footage) to bring context to this.
