Hats Off to Wyoming! (Acting blue when you are red red RED!)
For your consideration...

There have been a lot of civil rights speeches given since the days of Martin Luther King Junior but there have been few great ones. For those of you not following the Wyoming Senate's anti-gay marriage bill, you have missed one of our generation's great civil rights speeches. Conservative Republican Senator Cale Case took the floor in Wyoming and gave one of the most eloquent, simple and important civil rights speeches of the last thirty years. How important? How moving?

The Wyoming Senate is something like 85% Republican and following Senator Case's impassioned words, (and those of some other Wyoming Republicans) the anti-gay bill failed. FAILED in the reddest of red states.

I have heard our first African American President speak, I have heard our first Latina and our first African American Supreme Court Justices speak. I've heard many civil rights speeches. And the one that has moved me the most comes from a white conservative Republican from the heart of red state America.

Thank you Senator Case for the beautiful words and for showing us all that their are still conservatives who don't see the opposition as an enemy but as an American.

And for that I sent him a thank you card. (to balance all the hate mail he is probably getting)
Senator Cale Case, 787 South 4th Street, Lander, Wyoming 82520 The guy is so straight forward he even has his home phone number posted on his web page.

If someone can figure out a way to find the speech...please post! :0) (and you all have a great day!)

Gun control was racist and classist in its origins and remains true to those roots today...

7. the Wyoming Senate also recently rejected a bill mandating ultrasounds before abortion, as well
as a bill requiring students to say the pledge of allegiance.
