"Wisconsin Democrat says union bill talks are stalled":
http://lacrossetribune.com/news/local/state-and-regional/article_27ed6000-474d-11e0-abdc-001cc4c002e0.html

MADISON, Wis. - A Wisconsin Democratic senator who fled the state to block a Republican Gov. Scott Walker's collective bargaining bill says negotiations on the measure have stalled.

Sen. Tim Cullen, a Janesville Democrat, tells The Associated Press that talks with Republicans broke down on Thursday. He says it's difficult for either side to compromise. If the Democrats back down, their base won't forgive them, and Walker can't give up anything because he'd be seen as weak. Plus Assembly Republicans have already passed the bill with no changes.

Cullen says the lines of communications between the parties remain open, however.

Walker's spokesman didn't immediately return a message Saturday morning.

Cullen is the senator that Walker suggested might flip during his punked call with "Koch". I hope all of the 14 hold out as long as necessary.

2. That would likely be at least 3 months. This is going to be a marathon and not a sprint.
Until there are recall elections that result in the defeat of some of the Republican senators without losing an Democrats it will be about who blinks first. Republicans only need 1 Democrat, just 1.

3. Could be longer if they appeal signatures etc.
all the way up the chain of courts. And they will if they possibly can. Meanwhile incumbents stay in office.

4. I'm sure they will and Democrats should do the same for their senators being recalled.
The recall process is not simple or easy and the problems will be magnified for Walker where it's likely 600,000 signatures will be needed to be on the safe side.

5. In the end it may save a lot.
If Walker gets a chance, he'll sell the State's power plants to the Koch brothers for peanuts. Even if he does get recalled, they'll be able to keep their swag.

7. If Walker knew his Rolling Stones
He would know that you can't always get what you want. He got practically everything in terms of concessions, then decided to go for the whole enchilada of collective bargaining, and it turns out that yes, you can push the liberals too far. Now he's kind of stuck, holding more walnuts than he can get out of the jar, but unwilling to let any of them go.

People seem to have made up their minds about who is to blame in all of this, and Scott is #1 on the hit parade.
