So, why is it exactly you cancel HBGary's training on memory and malware RE, and allow Halvar and Jamie?
HBGary has a full time curriculum developer, the training is more advanced than Jamie's, includes printed materials, review, and CPE credits - a professional program funded by the Dept. of Homeland Security, and includes all the analysis software for free. Jamie, on the other hand, has no outside validation and is 100% funded by a commercial vendor called Mandiant, and his training is only a clever marketing ploy to get Mandiant more consulting work. I thought you wanted to get away from vendors? Halvar, too, is peddling his software which, after support, costs __almost exactly__ the same as HbGary's flagship Responder product - the very same we are giving away __for free__ with the training course at Blackhat. Again, why does Halvar get to stay and HBGary gets axed? I have multiple RE's on staff who easily outclass Halvar and who also want to train the class at BH - we have expertise in areas that Halvar has zero experience in - mostly in field stuff that a researcher at a desk can never know. Our people over here have done this work since the 90's for the intel community and some even have medals awarded to them for their work in this area. I know that you really like Halvar and so do I, but I have known you longer and I thought we had a solid relationship. Maybe you don't know or don't think about this, but I have really advanced in my career since I gave that first talk at BH so many years ago - I am only one removed from the President of the United States, I know multiple decision makers in both major intelligence community organizations, and my company has software installed in about 1/4 of all fortune 500 companies. The FBI and Secret Service have both standardized on my software for physical memory. When you cancelled by training, the very next day I had customers asking me why they couldn't sign up for the black hat training. I think somewhere along the line you got disconnected from who I really am, Jeff, and I really want you back. I know you are busy with the "world of blackhat" but stick your head out for a moment - I am a serious bad ass right now and I'm not sure you realize that.
