One asshole out of 300 million.
Edited on Wed Dec-22-10 02:57 PM by walldude
One asshole out of 300 million people decided that 7.6 billion was too much to pay to 9/11 first responders so the amount got cut nearly in half.

And people are confused as to why I'm angry.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have made the deal, I'm saying it SUCKS ASS. I'm saying there is something seriously wrong with our system when 1 person can hold the bravest and most selfless Americans hostage over a few bucks, right after they gave billions and billions to the rich. Who I notice got everything they wanted.

everyone knows who s/he is?

One thing is for sure, they are proving Michael Moore to be correct yet again. In 'Sicko' he covered the abandonment of the 9/11 first responders, how many have already died, and how many have cancer, but when forced to stop working, had no health coverage.

He took them to Cuba where they received kindness and medical care, free of charge. Then the liars lied about the movie being banned in Cuba, which it was not.

I don't believe anything anymore coming out of the mouths of politicians, the only thing I believe is action.

Shame on this country. But is anyone surprised that a country that could slaughter innocent, men women and children would treat its own people so badly? In many ways, it is the fault of the American people who cheered on a brutal, illegal war against innocent civilians, because that's who mostly dies in these wars, and never thought that such criminal disregard for human life would eventually be aimed at them.

4. While I agree with you
that it suck for one cretin to hold up a bill. The original bill had 7.6 million over a ten year period, the deal is 4.3 (if I remember correctly) over a four year period. so yes technically everything was cut in half. I know it's a hassle but I think it can be revisited after the 4 years and re upped. In some cases something is better than nothing.

6. I agree.. better than nothing.
That is not going to stop me from being angry that we had to settle for "better than nothing" when it comes to first responders.

I notice the billionaires didn't have to settle for "better than nothing". They got everything they wanted.
