America Will Never Recover Until Wall St., 9/11, the Iraq War, Torture, Spying on Americans and Other Government Failures Are Prosecuted

...................

"Abusive financial practices were unchecked by personal moral controls that prohibit individual criminal behavior, as in the case of Bernard Madoff, and by complex financial manipulations, as in the case of AIG." The public, expecting to be protected from such abuse, has suffered a trauma of loss similar to that after 9/11. "Normal expectations of what is safe and dependable were abruptly shattered," Sachs noted. "As is typical of post-traumatic states, planning for the future could not be based on old assumptions about what is safe and what is dangerous. A radical reversal of how to be gratified occurred."

Repeat: Normal expectations of what is safe and dependable were abruptly shattered. And what is more, is that they continue to remain shattered, so Americans are like one of those old worn out boxers/fighters in the ring, that has been suckered punched so many times, that their brains have been fried and they are ready to go down for the count because their so called leaders, in both parties, simply continue to sucker punch them when they are already on their knees.

Remember, distrust in the political actions of government officials undermines the economy as well. Therefore, the economy will not recover until the economic criminals are prosecuted, and there are real investigations into 9/11, the Iraq war, torture, spying on Americans and other government failures.

2. Right after never or we replace almost the whole lot with public servants.
They have already done more than they intended with the "historic" Wall Street reform bill that did very little reforming.

9. We'd have to replace every single member of Congress before we do that.
And yes, that means even the democratic incumbents. They all must go if we're going to do this.

14. Recover?
Recover what? Our faith? Our dignity? The belief that no one is above the law?

And what about a true and accurate vote count?
Isn't the loss of that which has us where we are today?

15. Even moreso: People refuse to play in rigged games
You'll see the same kind of rebellion as in Greece--total refusal to pay for anything--or Libya--total refusal to follow the government.

There's no way to patch this over. We are not idiots, not all of us. In fact, the more capable a person, the less willing to be victimized.

19. We the people, first and that is notably first, establish justice.
If we disregard an act of justice, we in turn degrade the words of our constitution from acts to only words until finally we should not bother to waste our breath.

Dick Cheney or GW Bush. He will allow Eric Holder to jail medical marijuana farmers in Colorado, though. Priorities!

25. He already told us that we must look *forward* -- not *back*
That was the first clue -- well, "clue" my ass, he said it outright! -- that the Obama administration had no intention of prosecuting (or even inconveniencing, heaven forbid!) ANY of the people who got us into this mess. And not only would they not prosecute, let's just not mention it at all, okay? After all, we don't want to EMBARRASS any of them, now do we?
