1. Vid wont play here
-blocked cos I'm not in USA.

However, anything that can be done to regenerate skin for burns victims is a BFD. My younger brother had a bad burning accident in 1991. Lucky for him, the first doctor to culture skin for grafts was visiting and did his skin grafts. He's fine now, little scarring.

He likes showing people the mole on this wrist that used to be on his backside.

2. I'm sorry it won't play for you...
I hear you about the BFD! The video shows how the skin gun works. Within a matter of hours, the cells are suspended in a fluid, and sprayed onto the patient...

He was pronounced cured a couple of days later, from 2nd degree burns.

I'm glad your younger brother is OK. Burns can be so tough.

3. Very impressive.
The technique appears to offer great hope for those severely burned.

However, I noticed that one of the comments to the video mentioned that its effect / usefulness on third degree burns was not addressed.

4. Glad you found it impressive...
I didn't check out the comments.

Perhaps it's most useful for second degree burns...

Time will tell.

6. Two things: (1) WoW! and (2) the inventor is not American
It is a shame that technology and inventions have become more common from countries other than America. It is another way we are losing our independence as a country.

10. You should check out the Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine.
AFIRM (http://www.afirm.mil/) funded this work. Despite what you might feel about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the wounded warriors that are injured suffer horrendous burns and limb loss due to IEDs. Soldiers are surviving wounds received in war at a higher rate than ever before. Many of these soldiers are 20 year olds that are forced to live the rest of their lives (50-60 years) with horrific burn scars, disfigurements or loss of limbs. AFIRM was formed in 2008 and funds research for regenerative medicine in areas especially vital to the wounded warriors.

The research being funded by AFIRM is truly amazing. Not only are they trying to find methods of treating burns, but also elimination of scars, regeneration of muscle and complete regeneration of complex wounds (i.e. limbs - bone, muscle, vasculature and nerves).

12. I oppose those wars, but often wars bring new medical tx.
I appreciate your input!

Thank you so much, momto3!
