Newsflash - There's no such thing as recovery.
I've been through 3 major economic meltdowns in my 50+ years. Every single time I and almost everyone I know "rebounds" to a far lower place than previously and do not ever get anywhere close to regaining what they had - let alone what they could have had.

Each time we give a little to "save the company" or "save the country" we never get it back. Period. And when times get better for the company or "the country" (aka the top 5%) and we stand up and ask for what we gave up returned they start screaming socialism, class warfare and wealth redistribution.

When the rich people have decided they've shit on us about all we'll take, then they'll start tossing the bones back out - and having a dinky little bone with no meat on it will be so much better than what we have now that we'll be grateful and won't complain too much. And when the next generation comes along they'll start shitting on everyone again and toss out even smaller bones next time.

They won't stop until no one can afford "a chicken in the pot" but them.

2. Yeah, I've noticed this in my 30 years
For instance all my life I've only seen students, unions....etc getting worse and worse deals. I've never seen news stories that say, "unions get great deal" in fact, I don't even know where this myth comes from

3. It won't stop until the whole country goes Wisconsin on them
We need to act like Egyptians and start kicking some rich fat asses

Its coming, the people are fed up with whats going on and the seeds have been planted so it won't be long until the whole country joins in.

14. The mods do a great job
but if enough enough people on the DU either don't get it and complain, or completely misunderstood the post and complain, it'll come down.

No one is perfect. :)

6. It's funny how he can't seem to expect sacrifice from rich people
or corporations.

But he's damned good at enforcing sacrifice from all the rest of us simply by steering all the recovery to those rich people and corporations.

7. There is a recovery, just for the billionaires and maybe a few millionaires.
That is what they meant! What? You thought recovery was about workers? HA.

9. if there's no such thing as recovery how do you explain going from HW Bush's recession
to Clinton's surplus?

13. Economic recovery is just a term used by economists.
If "Wall Street" recovers, they consider that a recovery. If things are looking up for business profits, it is a recovery.

Have you ever noticed that some of the worst news for the working class is seen as good new on Wall Street?
