Politico: Palin's India trip will help build foreign policy cred
Edited on Sun Mar-06-11 05:08 PM by RandySF
Palin’s visit allows her to build some foreign-policy cred with a visit to a friendly ally — and score some points with Indian-American voters in the States. Obama’s first state dinner was for India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. And strategists, Democrats and Republicans alike, are increasingly trying to build support with Indian-American voters and donors — who come from one of the fastest-growing, and most affluent, groups in the country, more than 2.5 million strong.

“Basically, the growing clout of Indian-Americans in relation to their numbers here is a subject of growing interest in India,” said Chidanand Rajghatta, the longtime Washington correspondent for The Times of India. And that clout is more pronounced, he said, because “most Indians who come here or are in the U.S., first generation or second generation, they are the top of the top, the elites.

3. I dont get it
So going to a foreign country means you have foreign policy experience? Its pathetic that our media goes along with this when they know she is only doing this to give the illusion that she understands anything about foreign cultures.

20. I second this!
Indian Americans are overwhelmingly democrat (except for a few exceptions....like you know who!). Nobody cares about Palin....its an inconvenient truth that some of her supporters have a hard time accepting.

24. Haha yeah! Would be fun to watch!
Everytime I tell my friends who live in India that most of the right wingers here want to bring in stuff like
"intelligent design" instead of evolution they have a hard time believing me, because according to them its impossible to be that stupid! lets wait till Palin goes there and utters some pearls of wisdom!

8. Hey, I spent a whole summer in England some years ago.
Doesn't that mean I should get the Ambassador job? I mean, a whole damn summer, not just a few days! Or maybe I should be President, since Britain is our most important ally, isn't it? Why shouldn't I be President, seeing as how I spent a whole summer in England?

should that go unnoticed? Or should the media be all over it if she does?

16. What a stupid article.
But then it's about a stupid topic. Why is anyone talking about this irrelevant woman?

I've been to several foreign countries. I guess I've got 'foreign policy' creds too.

So, now I'm ready for the WH :eyes:

Where do they get these people to write this stuff?

I am convinced that she has hired PR people to write these ridiculous articles to keep her in the news so that she can keep making money.

I know it's a hopeless dream, but if I never saw that woman's name or face again, it would be heaven.

I rarely comment on threads with her name in them because all it does it contribute to keeping her around.

I will now leave the thread and go back to ignoring anything that relates to this stupid and embarrassing woman.

Someone needs to warn India, they have enough problems already. Better yet, maybe they can keep her there.

22. LOL, so you fly over to India & spend a little time and this gives you or you build
up your foreign policy credentials. Hilarious, how many people do this, so that means there are a hell of a lot of people in this country with foreign policy credentials.

She just needs to face facts, she doesn't even have Alaskan policy experience because she is not disciplined enough to learn the facts & she is a quitter when the going gets tough. She just wants to be adored by her fans and no criticism of her.

cricket world cup in the sub-continent.
No one will know she is there - the only interest in India right now is winning the world cup.

27. You hit the nail on the head!
Nothing even comes close to the interest and fervor generated by the cricket world cup. I bet that if there was a game on while she is giving her speech (most probably will be, as there is a cricket match(game) everyday) 99% of those in the room would be following the game on their phones.

To use a cricket terminology....she would be "clean bowled"

she says that the only people who are REAL AMERICANS are caucasian.

After all of the nonsense that Palin and the republiCONS have thrown out there about AA,Hispanics,Muslims,Gays,etc..

I am surprised that anyone would vote for them what does it take,if they don't get it by now they get what they deserve...

There'll be more wardrobe and make-up people, cameras and PR types than people who could teach Palin what she's seeing.

An actual mamma grizzly could learn more from this trip than Sarah Palin.
