Scott Walker's backers rally in Madison

By ASSOCIATED PRESS | 3/6/11 8:14 PM EST

MADISON, Wis. — About 700 people rallied Sunday in support of Republican Gov. Scott Walker and his anti-union plan to balance the budget - a demonstration meant to counter three weeks of large anti-Walker protests in and around the state Capitol.

The rally was the culmination of a 10-stop bus tour sponsored by the conservative advocacy group Americans for Prosperity that started Thursday in Kenosha. It took place at the Aliant Energy Center in Madison, which is a couple of miles from the Capitol, where thousands of pro-union demonstrators rallied Saturday and Sunday.

The pro-Walker rally comes after tens of thousands of people protested on Saturday at the Capitol for a third straight weekend. The previous two rallies attracted about 70,000 and more than 80,000. About 5,700 people had been at the Capitol as of early Sunday afternoon, the state Department of Administration estimated.

3. BS!
We were at the Alliant Center - there's NO FRICKIN' WAY there were 700 TPers there. My partner spent quite a bit of time wandering around inside, and he thought about 150 to 200 TPers were there.

Then we waited (and waited), wanting to see the people loaded up on the bus, and hauled away. Despite all of the maneuvering of the bus, trying to block our view of the doorway, we could still see that absolutely nobody got on that bus before it pulled away, though some people thought that three TPers might have been on the bus before we got there.

How rich do you (or your buddies) need to be, to drive an empty bus all over the state, in a desperate attempt to boost your image?
