Then I read the thread Archae posted laughing at the Freepers, and see similar comments made by them that mirrored Graham's.

To the vapor-afflicted Lindsey Graham, I'm quite sure that feels like "the Dems have eaten our lunch."

The truth is, for the first time in eons, the Dems have managed to use the media to shame the RETHUGS into doing the right thing. Using the media has always been the RETHUG's perview and they damned well resent it.

Notice that the GOOP got cooperative after we caved on what they really wanted: a $114 billion extension of upper class tax cuts and the $112 billion opening raid into the SS Trust Fund, money that will have to be made up by cuts in general expenditures (read, social spending).

The bipartisan stuff that followed, although some quite worthwhile, was a compensation prize. We're now supposed to rejoice that we "ate their lunch".
