Westboro Baptist Church Gets Tires Slashed, Locals Refuse To Perform Repairs

http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/westboro-church-gets-tires-slashed-locals-refuse

Shortly after protesting the funeral of Army Sgt. Jason James McCluskey in Oklahoma, members of the Westboro Baptist Church headed back to their minivan, only to discover that its front and rear passenger-side tires had been slashed. To make matters worse, when they drove into town they were unable to find anyone who would repair it. Ha ha.

hugs and kisses to whoever said NO in whatever town this was

2. Someone did that to their bus back before the election - same deal - no repair.
The "truck and bus" tire repair guy took one look at the hate-mobile and told them to find someone else to fix it.

6. Yeah, hate speech has real life consequences
so I won't lose any sleep when that family starts to experience a few of them.

However, I'm delighted the conservatives on the court had enough conscience left to uphold the First Amendment.

I hate what they say and if they said it to me on one of my bad days, they'd all get knuckle sandwiches, but I will defend to the death their right to say it.

7. I think we can all agree these folks are pretty fucked up
That being said, incidents like this don’t affect the Phelps clan in the least. Their entire world view, their entire philosophy, and all the law and the prophets of the Bible have been reduced to one partial verse from Jesus: “Blessed are you when others revile you for my name’s sake.” Every middle finger, every slashed tire, every “fuck you” just reinforces the central tenet of their being. They see themselves as the one lone outpost of godliness on an entire planet of godlessness, the only ones with access to and understanding of The Truth.

You want to mess with them? You want to discombobulate them? Return kindness for their anger. Answer their wickedness with peace and goodness. On the theory that bigotry and hatred are thirsty work, we offered them cold water and sodas on a hot summer day in Kansas City. The Phelpsians were naturally suspicious and hostile, but they took off rather quickly after we greeted them with refreshments. One of them tried to quote Abram from Genesis 14, but it was pretty lame, and their thirst overcame their hostility if only briefly.
