Consider these very strong overtures to the assault on our middle class.

I am watching CSPAN right now, infuriated with the line of questioning these so-called expert Senators have for the Catfood Commission Co-Chairs, Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles. The ideas they proposed in the fiscal commission are nothing short of middle class theft of benefits we faithfully paid into and earned. Despite the fact that Social Security doesn't contribute to the deficit, all they want to discuss is cutting it and "making it solvent." Puke. All we have to do is raise the FICA income tax cap to capture 90% of wages, instead of 84%. THAT IS ALL.

If I hear "serious discussion" or "debt crisis" one more time, this TV is getting thrown out the window.

I suggest everyone shoot an email or call the Senate Budget Committee: http://budget.senate.gov/democratic/index.cfm/contact

and let them know we do not accept draconian and unnecessary cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. "Shared sacrifice" doesn't mean asking people with nothing left to sacrifice to strip naked and be thrown out in the streets because our Reps refuse to raise taxes on the wealthy or on financial transactions.
