Wisconsin law requires govt to accommodate people wanting to record/photograph govt meetings
So the new rules for the State Capitol

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x585753

are against the law.

Here's the relevant statute:

http://law.justia.com/codes/wisconsin/2010/19/19.90.html

19.90
19.90 Use of equipment in open session. Whenever a governmental body holds a meeting in open session, the body shall make a reasonable effort to accommodate any person desiring to record, film or photograph the meeting. This section does not permit recording, filming or photographing such a meeting in a manner that interferes with the conduct of the meeting or the rights of the participants.

There's a disclaimer on that site saying it might not be the most recent version of the statute, but it is:

2. It is only Unconstitutional if their Supreme Court says it is.
No matter what the actual wording is in the Constitution. Just as the Federal Constitution says no searches without warrant or no one held without due process. Also Habeas Corpus is a cornerstone of our Constitution and yet under Republican Rule it no longer exists...Our US Extreme Court has ruled all of those things are now acceptable for our Government..
