Weren't republicans aghast at people walking away from their mortgages because it's a legal contract... |

3. They were aghast that anyone would deny |

the Wall St. crowd the billions in bonuses because that was part of their contract. Daily Show has a great montage of the talking heads contradicting themselves.

7. The banksters should have been FIRED, not given a BONUS |
|
Or was it against their contract to fire them for incompetence?
Oh wait. It wasn't incompetence. It worked out just as they planned: they made off with all the loot.

5. Mob bosses extorting money from workers and corporations of course so |
|
union contracts aren't protected by law's because they are illegal crime syndicates. Come on everyone has seen "on the water front" which was a true documentary about union thugs. Never mind facts like corporations hired thugs to keep workers from organizing or that police and national guard were often used to stop striking workers from preventing scab labor from crossing picket lines, remember it is a commie plot to take over America so anything the corporations did was for the good of working American's, as long as said workers didn't want good wages or expected a thing after they became injured or to old to work.

8. If everybody walked away from there mortgage this country will never recover. |
|
People were walking away not because they couldn't afford it but because there mortgages were underwater. They did sign a contract and should honor it.

11. Well as long as the banks dotted every i and |
|
crossed every t and did every thing within the law including due diligence that all info was correct and they hold the actual note then let them foreclose. If the bank used bait and switch tactics, talked people into more than they wanted to start with and used creative financing then the bank should eat the losses. Not everyone is underwater or wanting to walk away. Everyone should want some transparency, honesty and everything legal.
The banks caused the crisis.

Of course, that assumes that you agree that people should not walk away from their mortgages.

10. It's unbelieveable, thankfully, we've been consistant on this |
|
Edited on Tue Mar-08-11 12:51 PM by hughee99
by encouraging states to honor their contracts to workers, homeowners to not walk away from bad loans, bailout banks to pay promised bonuses to executives...
yup, the repukes are a bunch of hypocrites but progressives have been consistent on honoring contracts.

14. The "principle" here is that ... |
|
... rich people deserve everything because being rich means you are a good person. Poor and middle-class people obviously don't deserve to be treated as well, if they did, they would be rich.
If they could just stop worshiping wealth and those who are wealthy long enough to examine their own lives, only the very wealthy would be republicans (and only a minority of them).
