That is a brutal regime. They urged Mubarak to completely suppress the Egyptian revolution by force, and will most likely do so in their own country. So, it will take a lot of courage for the people there to rise up against that regime.

The U.S. as in the case of all these brutal regimes, has helped keep them in power.

It's like someone opened the doors to the world's darkest, most hidden horror chambers, as we are now seeing in Egypt and will elsewhere when other countries raid their secret police's files, and all the evils we have only suspected, are dragged out into the sunlight.
