13. I think Republicans have inadvertently revived the labor
movement in this country.

Great photos. I hope this spreads and grows across the country.

I wonder if the teabaggers are against the biggest, socialist program in the world, the Military!

I had a discussion on a rightleaning board a few months ago with a few teabaggers who were condemning 'Socialism' but some of them had the usual 'we support the troops' avatars, together with the flags etc.

So, I asked one of them how they felt about the world's biggest socialist program, the military.
Her response, 'I wasn't talking about the military, I support our troops'.

Me ~ But you said you are opposed to socialism??

She ~ Where do you get that the military is a socialist program?

Me ~ Where does the money come from to pay the huge Pentagon budget every year?

She ~ We need a strong military.

Me ~ That doesn't excuse 'socialism' does it? It's a Government run program. I'm for cutting it drastically, how about you?

She ~ Look, you're just trying to confuse the issue.

Me ~ Is asking you to be consistent confusing? If you support the military budget, you support Socialism. It's not confusing at all.

She WAS confused and did acknowledge that she didn't really want to cut off the elderly from Medicare or SS either. She said she favored helping people who needed help. I asked how we could do that if we took away the social safety nets for the most vulnerable people. To give her credit, she said she would have to think about it some more. Don't know if she did.
