I get the feeling that pols are stubbornly doing what their rich donors want and don't give one damn how large protests get.

I suspect they figure people will eventually have to give up - and without the major news covering the protests, why should they care? When election time comes around they'll do what they've always done and pump lots of money into manipulative ads and hypnotize the people into voting for them again.

right now is just out of the question; I get the feeling there are many who don't realize how serious that situation is, and what kind of impact it could have on the rest of the country.
