Fox News Reporter: Did Woman Beaten Into Coma 'Deserve It'?

Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly has a question: "A man beats a 100 pound woman into a coma over a parking space. He claims she deserves it. Could he be right? In Kelly's Court!" Never have so many wrongs been contained in the space of a single tweet. Let us count them:

* 1. Blaming the victim wrong.
* 2. Unfortunate timing given that today is International Women's Day wrong.
* 3. Last sentence reads like an affirmative answer to question that precedes it, thereby creating a highly unfortunate message, wrong. Could he be right? Sure! I mean, in Kelly's Court, at least.
* 4. Factually wrong: Oscar Fuller never said Lana Rosas "deserved" to be beaten into a coma. His excuse is that "she hit first" and he hit her back "out of reflex."

Two wrongs don't make a right, but could four wrongs make a good segment for Fox News? Find out tonight, in Kelly's Court!

2. Exactly what I expect from a tabloid...
Odd how some tabloids are actually better, more accurate sources than an alleged news source.

This asshat woman needs to turn in her vajayjay! Idiot.

4. Seriously? This is a real show? Good grief!
I never watch Faux News, find my remote shaking when I scroll through the guide and run across it, and my reasoning keeps getting validated.

Can only shake my head...

6. It never ceases to amaze, the sleeze they will sling as "news?"
So who tunes in after this "teaser?" I guess wife beaters and frustrated wanna be wife beaters. Or are they unmarried misogynists who blame all women for their shitty lives?

So Kelly's Court...........what the fuck do you do to deserve to be beat down this bad?

Kelly, DU won't let me call you the name you deserve. We have standards.

17. He's also been arrested for assault before and other crimes
How you can excuse this is beyond me, and there isn't a lawyer in the world that will keep him out of jail.

The lesson here: Stay in your damn vehicle. You can't just run over pedestrians anymore than you can punch them into a coma just because they are in your way.

5. Nobody deserves to be beaten into a coma
let alone women, and let alone women who have the body stature of a CHILD.

9. this is red meat
for the knuckle draggers who think "He says she hit him first? Well then HELL TO THE YEAH she got what she deserved! Ya'll beeyotches who wanna be equal? We'll show you equal!"

NB: Message boards at several news sites were reviewed to perform this analysis.

Of course (1) there is no proof that she hit first; (2) she is 8 inches shorter than him; (3) he did the KO on her then ran to his car and drove away when he saw her boyfriend approaching. But none of this matters in RW Wimmen Haters Club land.

11. There is a bit more to this than Fox is saying (doh!)
1) He hit her once after she attacked him
2) Serious injury was done when she fell and hit her head

Not saying it was justified or that it is wrong, just that there is more to the matter than the promo piece.

More on the same event here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x580425#580451

I am fine with self defense, and do not have a problem with standing ones ground when attacked. That said, I have not nor never will hit woman.

14. He escalated it
by getting out of the car. Had he exercised the slightest bit of judgment, he would have done what everyone else does, and cussed her out and kept going. No, HE got out of the car and got in her face. The woman was a pedestrian and 4'11". You can't just run over people, either, because you get pissed off.

In any case, the law is against him because he escalated the conflict and then inflicted serious bodily harm to the woman.

Road rage is a dangerous and serious problem - stay in your damn vehicle, and you have a much better chance of not getting involved in something deadly.

15. Oh - and he's also been previously arrested for assault
and drug possession.

Sorry, no lawyer in the world is going to keep him out of jail.

13. This is exactly why...
...you never get out of your car no matter how mad you are. The guy is 100% wrong, regardless of how it happened, because she was a pedestrian and he got out of his car to escalate the situation - not to mention he then beat the woman into a coma. She was 4'11.

Anyone that can defend that needs their head examined.
