WI State Senators (R) caught taking over $300k in taxpayer money

Wisconsin State Senate Republicans Took Hundreds Of Thousands In Government Farm Subsidies
..................

At least three of the Wisconsin state Senate Republicans currently demanding that public workers sacrifice benefits, wages and even collective bargaining rights for the sake of the budget have applied for and received hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal farm subsidies, a Huffington Post review of state and federal records shows.

From 1995 through 2009, state Sens. Luther Olsen, Dale Schultz and Sheila Harsdorf all had stakes in farms that received between them more than $300,000 in taxpayer funds.

Yet again, Republicans shown to be hypocrites. Cut taxes for corporations, ask that teachers pay for it with reduced wages, medical, pension, and dignity, whilst sucking from the federal taxpayer tit themselves.

2. I'm not sure that makes them hypocrites...
Wouldn't they be hypocrites if they were trying to cut or eliminate farm subsidies?

6. They are against taxes in general and redistribution of wealth...
unless they themselves can benefit from the tax revenue that is generated from society at large and redistribute it into their own pockets.

12. Yet teachers all with degrees Bachelors, Master and/or Ph D's who work hard for their pensions..
Edited on Tue Mar-08-11 06:41 PM by LaPera
And the rich receive government dollars (socialism) for doing absolutely NOTHING for it!

Rich Republicans taking hundreds of thousands (and millions & billions) of tax payer dollars, i.e., Corporate Government Welfare - (the rich prefer to call it "subsidies" isn't that cute).

Yet teachers all with a Bachelor or Master degrees or Ph D's who work hard for their pensions..... while the republicans want to cut or take away their pensions without even giving teachers and union workers the right as human beings to NEGOTIATE - Republicans want to legislate against teachers and all union members that they should not have even the basic of rights to bargain for a better life.

Republicans can silently take government money and still have the loathsome gull to point their fingers at worker and unions and small businesses - This is usual republican tactics & politics.

Fucking slimy Republicans want to cut every social program possible.....

Voting on a democratic proposed bill, every single republican refused to cut corporations like Exxon's 3.4 billion dollars they receive in government welfare (subsidies) even though Exxon makes tens of billions of dollars in PROFITS each & every year, all while taking our tax dollars and gouging us at the pumps each and every day!

This corporate government welfare goes to hundreds of profitable corporations.

The same ones that donate to the republican party and their corporate controlling agenda!

Welcome to DU and thanks for sharing this info with DU.

The Hypocrisy of Republicans knows no bounds. They need to get their greedy asses OUT of public office. They do not need to be making decisions when their own greed blinds them to reality.
