Western Journalists allow themselves to be corralled for ten hours in hotel--is this embarrassing? |

Like a lot of you, I got up early to follow events in Libya, and saw that a speech by Qaddafi was imminent, side by side with reports of his attacks on Az Zayiha and Ras Lanaouf, and they were either unable or unwilling to leave.
Probably unable.
But this is a low point of journalism. While Sky News and AlJazeera had reporters live on the front line, we followed tweets from five in the morning until four in the afternoon from reporters trapped in a hotel lobby promising to transmit Gaddafi's speech, which has yet to come.
This is amazing.
Sorry for the lack of creative expression here, but I just find this sad, sorrowful, amazing.

1. I'd have to know more before I condemn them |

I won't soon forget what happened to Lara Logan.

2. Maybe so, but I wish they would not even bother tweeting nothing. |

I admire their courage, but i'm sorry this seems pathetic.
You are probably right.
