Tell me if this makes sence to you. Conservatives in Canada are |
starting "Sun tv" to be fox news north. But Canadians are well informed and have CRTC laws that make it illegal to purposely lie during a newscast. So the Sun tv show will be much different that fox news in the USA. Because they cannot lie. Can we point that out and show the difference between the two news networks on a whole host of topics and make the difference on facts an issue? Would a story on fox news make it through to teabaggers?

3. You can slant a story easily without lying at all |
It all depends on who you interview and what facts you leave out.

5. I will say, most crappy reporters I know weren't purposely slanting... |
They were just too pigheaded and thick to understand they weren't being objective.

9. Of course, that's what I mean by choosing which facts they use. |
They will report do things like (and this is a made-up situation) report HIV infections have gone up 35 per cent, but won't report that they closed a safe-needle exchange the month before. Then they'll say that prevention measures aren't working.

6. I wouldn't assume they can't lie. |
With a lot of people, even Canadians, their emotions and drives matter more than the truth. So what matters is not whether you tell them the truth but how cleverly you appeal to their baser selves.

12. Give it a little time. You have to repeat a lie a few times before it becomes "truthy." |
