Is there a good reason (besides political excuses).... |
|
...why the President does not make a phone call to Quantico and tell those torture goons to back off from Manning and demand that Bradley be afforded due process? After all...Obama is the Commander in Chief.

1. Now that would be just too simple to be workable. |
|
I sure there are great excuses for why that cannot happen, I'm just waiting for the apologists to provide them.

2. What?! And be perceived as aiding and abetting the enemy?! |

Being 'soft on crime' and especially on Treason with a capital 'T'?
We'd never, ever hear the end of it. Obama can't burp without the fringe going nuts over his audacity to dare to burp.
Even DU would erupt into some major in-fighting over whether he was siding with traitors to our country or doing the right thing. The woodwork would explode as everyone and their dog came out of it to join the fight.

3. We have come a long way... |

...(and not a good way) when anything short of torturing and denying a prisoner of due process is considered "aiding and abetting".
