CNBC Calls Social Security and Unemployment Insurance "Welfare"
As if we didn't have threats to our economic survival coming from all angles, now the corporate media is saying we should all weaned off of benefits we paid for and be homeless and die, I guess.

Liberal media? Give me a fucking break.

1. CNBC has always been nothing more than vile corporate propaganda, where truth is always optional.

the bank is giving me welfare money? By their definition, I guess once you put your money in, it's no longer yours.

10. Of course not. They deserve to get bonus because they've created so many jobs. Not.

8. They also say the economy has recovered.
Plus this load of steaming hooey:

“Consumption supported by wages and salaries is a much stronger foundation for economic growth than consumption based on social welfare benefits.”

Yeah, if only we had those "wages and salaries"

More disturbing is the increasing volume of the meme that senior's retirement ( and Soc. Sec. disability) and seniors healthcare is now a "handout".

Plus, note the long disclosure at the bottom of that web page.

9. CNBC = Faux "News" Financial.
In some ways, they can be even worse, because at least Faux doesn't make any attempt to hide the fact that they're a water carrier of the Republican Party and Freedomworks.

12. Every person and large corporation not paying their fair share of the tax burden necessary for the
the government to pay its current bills and meet its obligations are receiving direct government welfare: let there be no mistake about this simple premise. :patriot:

13. "Welfare" should not be a dirty word

As there is no program actually called "welfare", then we might as well reclaim that word which, after all, is in the preamble of the Constitution.

14. Just wrote them an email "reminding" them that
SS and Medicare are "pay outs" not "hand outs"

and added that "government" is "we the people"

and that since we fund it ALL, it is our prerogative

to decide HOW it gets spent.

15. Found an answer to this on FB..
"What a crock.. Social Security and Unemployment are not "social welfare payments". You pay into insurance, you get a return. TANF(Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) these days has 1/3 the number of people on welfare in 1996. Total TANF funding is slightly over $18 Billion... That's $160 from every family per year. Every family in the US owes $10,714 per year - in taxes or money borrowed from China - for the "defense" budget.

Both parties are arguing about cutting $61 Billion from domestic spending.
That amount is 5 months of the Afghanistan war.

All the crap you read these days doesn't change where the real money goes."
