arrested for jogging with a 'look of worry'
Ex-cop says he was wrongfully arrested in suit

-------------------

Cornell told the officers, "I'm a cop" and identified witnesses that could confirm that he had been running in the park, but they arrested him for resisting arrest and seized his duty weapon from his parked Ford Bronco, handcuffs from his pants, star and police identification, the suit said.

Cornell was fired from the department two days later, according to the lawsuit, which alleges assault, battery and false imprisonment and seeks unspecified damages.

No charges were ever filed against Cornell.

----------
In their police reports, Brandt and Officer Richard Bodisco wrote that Cornell spotted their marked police car and had a "look of worry" on his face after emerging from some bushes near the top of the park known as Hippie Hill, a known high-crime spot.

5. It may have been a case of assumed gay
I'm just guessing.

There is something very weird here, and whatever the real story behind the arrest is, it's not going to be told in public.

3. Geeze
The way my joints have been feeling, if I had been out jogging the look on my face would be a look of pained horror. I suppose that's an arrestable offense now?

Was this a public sex spot? Is that why this guy was canned? On pure suspicion?

6. When they are allowed to lie in order to criminalize anyone,
Even absurd lies are acceptable, and anything can be used to make you a criminal. Any supposed look, anything you might have, anything they might think you are doing, or might think that perhaps you are even just thinking about doing.

It doesn't matter whether or not you have actually done anything that is against the law, or whether you have anything illegal in your actual possession. You can imagine something for you, and that will be good enough.

These are the modern police powers, where the whim and imagination of the police officer replace fact-finding and rule-of-law. :(
