Mike Rogers to directly ask Lindsey Graham about alleged overnight partner
I met with the lawyer today. He has some suggestions for me to take. I've prepared a written letter for Lindsey Graham's press secretary that I will be mailing tomorrow.

Clarification: Despite all of the tweets and emails from a lot of people around the web, I NEVER said I was outing Lindsey Graham today. What I did say is that I wondered if Lindsey Graham knows I have pictures of a guy who spent the night at his home and that I would be talking to a lawyer today.

I'm working on it. Working hard. And will be sharing the next step which is to contact Lindsey Graham's office (as instructed by my counsel) to show them what I have and to see if they want to make an on the record comment.

I will, as always, keep you updated.

Also, I have left a message for a senior staffer who works for an anti-gay senator. His online "get laid" pictures are kinda fun. I'll keep you updated.

3. Not really interested.
Peoples' sexuality is their own private business, even for rat fink hypocrite Republicans.

5. But it IS our business when elceted officials make other peoples sexuality THEIR business.
It is unfortunate that you cannot see that it really IS our business.

12. No, it's really not.
If this is some boy toy he's spending government funds on (not his salary), that's one thing. But if this is a man he's spending time with on his own time and dime it's none of my business what the hell they do together. Unfortunately, due to the way homosexuality is commonly viewed in this country, it is entirely possible to be both gay and against gay rights and homosexuality in general. As frustrated as such people make me, I suspect they lead horribly conflicted lives and I have no desire to "get back" at them by delighting in their vicious outings.

15. It is our business because it is the hallmark of a democracy that
people who make the laws must be forced to live under them. Mr. Graham is in the reserves and has been for years.

16. Perhaps you are right, but sometime you just have to "do unto others..."
Since there probably is no god, no karma, no cosmic wheel of justice, we sometimes have to take care of making things right ourselves. I think this is one of those times.

19. So you think that no matter what, all hypocrisy must be
preserved, that people have a right to hypocrisy? That it is alright to be a person who attacks others for doing what they also do? Even to the point of passing vicious laws? Why do you think that?
Is it also cool with you if a politician claims to be, say 'Green' and actually makes tons of money as a vile polluter? Is it somehow wrong to point out the polluting as well?
Do you really think you have the right to sit there eating a pork sandwich while telling me I must eat Kosher? Why?
I do not get your line of thinking at all. A closeted person who has nothing to do with gay issues in public has nothing to fear. People who make it an issue, under false pretenses, they should fear both man and God.
Do you think that the partners of these people have an obligation to lie about it as well? Is the hypocrisy that sacred?

13. make women hate hillary clinton, make the working poor hate democrats
make people with no health care hate health care reform...

Separating voters from their advocates is part of the GOP play book. And it's all a big show. They bag on gays because it brings in the dollars and gets out the vote.

Maybe it is time to separate Graham from his base ?

6. Yes, it is.
ESPECIALLY when elected officials think it is necessary to make other peoples' personal lives THEIR business.

7. Yes it is. It's playing by the rules upon which THEY insist.
Edited on Thu Dec-23-10 01:24 AM by calimary
What makes it an issue is these people themselves. They're so ready to dictate other people's personal behavior, twist and distort the Constitution, and push intrusive government into others' private lives. They're making it public policy. So if that's the way they want it for everybody else, that's the way they should get it, themselves. If they don't want their own dirty laundry to attract interest, they should stop being legislative butt-in-skis.

14. Isn't it the Republicans who are always saying that closeted gays
are a security threat because they can be blackmailed?

Hope they will consider an outed Graham as one less security threat.
