S&P MidCap 400 constituents F5 Networks Inc., Netflix Inc. and Newfield Exploration Co. will switch places with S&P 500 constituents The New York Times Co., Office Depot Inc. and Eastman Kodak Co.

The companies moving to the S&P 500 all have market caps above $7 billion, the companies moving to the S&P MidCap 400 all have market caps between $1 billion and $3.5 billion, and the companies moving to the S&P SmallCap 600 all have market caps below $500 million.

Of the companies joining the S&P 500, Netflix was up $10.71, or 5.6 percent, to $201.76 in extended trading Thursday. Cablevision jumped $1.65, or 5 percent, to $35.01. F5 Networks rose $7.78, or 5.6 percent, to $146.70. Newfield Exploration gained $2.71, or 3.9 percent, to $72.75.

Of those leaving the index, Office Depot fell 5 cents, or 1 percent, to $4.90, The New York Times Co. slipped 21 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $9.53 and Kodak eased 3 cents to $5.28.
