Attended a school corporation meeting tonight regarding a referendum in May... |

The bottom line is that they need money...about $6 mil to keep going.
So, we all get a federal tax cut, compliments of the Repubs, and continued on by President Obama...
Your state tax should go up to cover the shortage, but wait! Repub candidates campaign on tax cuts and deliver. That means, for any of us with active brain matter...even more deficits.
So, the problem is passed on to the county. Oops, guess what? The offices are held by even more Repubs who campaigned with the promise of lower taxes.
And, so now we are down to the lowly township elected officials, all who happen to be Repubs. But, there is no one left to pass the buck to. They are reduced to begging. But, that's ok. At least those holding office at the county and state level can brag that they kept taxes low.
Looks like we will need to close three schools, let 85 teachers go, and discontinue bus service to the almost 9,000 students out here.
All because morons think they should not have to pay for services.
For what it's worth, our younger child graduated out of this school system 15 years ago, and we are happy that this BS will not affect them. But, we support raising whatever funds that are needed to educate the students out here...even if their parents aren't smart enough to figure it out.

the bitching about how bad the public schools are will escalate.
