on that teeshirt, I'll have to remember that.

When I think of how hard both my parents worked as teachers for decades, and now most of their pensions go to pay for his nursing home as he had to retire early (in his fifties) due to early onset of dementia, so they really have very little to show for it, it then makes me physically ill to see their life's work so trashed and denigrated. I'm almost glad he no longer knows anything, as this would have broken his heart. And they started their careers before there were teacher unions, and salaries and working conditions were horrible.

Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 09:50 PM by kenny blankenship
By making yourself more attractive to global capital! Austerity will help you shed those unwanted pounds, and will lure Mr. Plutocrat-Factory Owner back home (until he can better deal you down in Brazil or Indonesia) Of course, you're going to have forget about those awful unions America, since they spread negative workplace attitudes. Be happy in your work! Build the global future as a willing and efficient cog. Together and through shared sacrifice we can make our banks solvent again.

"Administration officials said they saw the events (protests) beyond Washington as distractions ..."

Less Drama in White House After Staff Changes
BY JACKIE CALMES
March 3, 2011

.... the White House mostly has sought to stay out of the fray in Madison, Wis., and other state capitals where Republican governors are battling public employee unions and Democratic lawmakers over collective bargaining rights. When West Wing officials discovered that the Democratic National Committee had mobilized Mr. Obama’s national network to support the protests, they angrily reined in the staff at the party headquarters.

Administration officials said they saw the events beyond Washington as distractions from the optimistic “win the future” message that Mr. Obama introduced in his State of the Union address, in which he exhorted the country to increase spending for some programs even as it cuts others so that America can “out-innovate and out-educate” its global rivals.

but that has nothing to do with his sentiments, it's strategy.

Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 11:22 PM by hlthe2b
discussing a post I had seen previously posted, earlier in the day. Why must you be so nasty? I mentioned a previous post that disturbed me, paraphrased it by memory. I then endeavored to search for it and previous link, which took a while to find. Whether literally 'disgusted' or not, obviously the aids were expressing some kind of discomfort, disgust, or other negative feeling at their messaging being disrupted.

Enough KW, I don't deserve your rude and nasty attacks either.

55. WH staff "angrily" reigned in the staff at part headquarters
"Similarly, the White House mostly has sought to stay out of the fray in Madison, Wis., and other state capitals where Republican governors are battling public employee unions and Democratic lawmakers over collective bargaining rights. When West Wing officials discovered that the Democratic National Committee had mobilized Mr. Obama’s national network to support the protests, they angrily reined in the staff at the party headquarters."

I'd say "angrily reigned in" equates to being "disgusted"..... Most rational people would agree.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt, but the modus operandi of KittyWampus, apparently. Perhaps you should read source material before lashing out at others.

Obama won't say much, if anything. He's no drama Obama but mostly he's in the pocket of the uber-wealthy.

Watch the Oscar winning documentary: "Inside Job" and you'll see that Obama is has been controlled by the powers of Wall Street.

Very depressing reality.

I'll be in Madison this weekend, traveling from Illinois (aka Switzerland on the Prairie) to stand with my fellow working Americans.
