The reason why the sadistic neocons are so over the top with their social engineering
Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 11:44 PM by applegrove
is that some people will respond to sadism (an attack on your way of life) with masochism (the stockholm syndrome too). If the GOP goes all Ann Rand all the time a certain portion of the moderate union supporters around the country will break off and become passive supporters of the "strongman". The more attacks on the middle class, the more people will break off and become meek followers of the neocons. Even if it is just a tiny percentage of people who react this way, over time they do add up. Look for more of these Ann Rand type events to break out across the country because republicans learn from each other. Just an fyi.

1. There is a comment in there.

The comment is that knowledge is power.

The comment is that if you say something someone might learn from it. And then the fear is it will be used against you. It is to think secrecy is better. Fear is also used when you try to help people, the attempt is by trying to tell you sharing a good concept will be used against you, but if you share a good concept it will be used for good by good, and if bad tries to use it for bad, some things will get angry about that anyways, and it wouldn't work out the best.

That is a calculation without an outside effect involved.

3. The union people in WI are very angry right now but I bet you more
than a few moderate former union supporters in other parts of the country are scurrying to the side of the repukes. For thousands of years human being had to cope and survive by joining up with the strongman. Even if it is only 1/2 of 1% who break off when an overthetop Rand GOP attack on the middle class happens, those numbers add up over time and make the difference during an election.

Obama needs to start acting like an alpha male now.

5. And they're the "Strongman" ?
We have no way of knowing who the "Strongman" is until the shit hits the fucking fan. History will tell us who the "Stongman" was here.

4. War on political opponent is the Occam's razor explanation.
Who need this mumbo-jumbo when it is so obvious they are playing political warfare.

7. I agree with you, unless the current dynamic is dramatically reversed, the
nation is on a dangerous course, because the sadism will not relent anymore than a bully would voluntarily relent.

The opposing action/message must be strong and clear or the screws will only be tightened against the people, if you're not affected now, make no mistake about it, you will be.

Thanks for the thread, applegrove.

9. That is right. Hitler had more than a decade to expose Germany to repeated sadism.
And then the Germans were sheep or sadists themselves. Maybe that is where Ayn Rand got her inspirations for her character's overthetop powergrabs. I would fully expect to see more overreach from the GOP, backed by the koches. Afterall it has to be done again and again to garner more and more followers.
