i have a couple hundred channels on my teevee and not one is reporting on the wisconsin uprising |

there are people in the state house at this moment making demands on their government and the media looks the other way.

I know there are plenty of good reasons for people to not want him there, but we need the fucking press. He can drag the white house press corps with him, they'll be calling him a man of the people on M$NBC and a socialist pig on Faux. In the background will be thousands and thousands of people, without the damn palm trees.

But what watching TV does do is warp your impressions of what's important and what isn't.
I don't watch TV at all and yet even I am aware that Charlie Sheen is inexplicably the focus of a great deal of Corporate media attention.
And yet when one of the most important developments in recent US political history is taking place in Madison, the same Corporate media makes it seem unimportant.
So, even if you do think it's important, you are likely to be reacting against a media who say it isn't.
Net result: whether you support it or oppose it, the Corporate media are setting the agenda.
